The Sample
The interviews were conducted online from June 12 to July 19, 2018. The sample includes 3,000 respondents from the U.S. general population. Additionally, the poll includes samples of 800 African-Americans, 800 Latino Americans, and 800 Asian Americans. Combined, the total sample size is 5,400.
The margin of error (i.e., 95% confidence interval) when analyzing the entire 5,400-person sample is approximately plus or minus 1.3 percentage points. The margin of error when looking at only the 800-person sample of a specific racial minority group, is plus or minus 3.5 percentage points.
